Hidden Comfort

The colonial home on a busy road called for a circular drive of Delaware Valley river jack blending into the entrance walk. As you enter the rear garden from under a Forest Pansy Redbud canopy, the feel is cozy as the space enlarges from the existing random irregular fieldstone terrace to a moderate expanse of lawn edged in fieldstone, doubling as a walkway. A geometrically constructed lattice backdrop sets the stage for a fieldstone fountain and custom copper bowl spilling water dramatically to soften the sound of the main road at the front of the house. An eyebrow trellis over the prominently located garage allows vines to bring down the scale of the house and provide for a comforting hidden retreat.
